► Mercedes C-Class EQ gets nearer to production
► First image shown by Mercedes
► Should have a 497-mile range
This is your first official look at the new Mercedes C-Class EV. The shadowy teaser you see here was revealed at the 2025 Munich motor show alongside the new electric GLC – and even from the image above you can see roughly what Stuttgart is planning. As expected, the new C-Class will take on the new grille first shown on the GLC EV, as Mercedes looks to give its EV range a serious refresh.
And talking of range: Mercedes says it’s shooting for a 497-mile range for the new car, which puts it ahead of the newly revealed GLC EV. The C will use the same new highly integrated battery technology as the GLC, called ‘Mercedes-Benz Electric Architecture,’ or MB.EA. It should also use 800-volt technology.
What else do we know?
We already know Mercedes is readying a sportier electric C-Class as an AMG model was spied testing in 2024, though the front-end design looks to have been altered significantly since then as Mercedes tries to distance itself from the poorly-received EQ range of models.
But don’t worry, combustion engines will continue to live on in the C-Class line-up, with a facelifted estate spotted testing recently. It’s due to be launched in 2026 while this new EV will arrive at a similar time.
We’ll update this article when we know more, likely into 2026 when we’re closer to seeing the production car.
